# Plan a location's training launch

Plan who at a new location must be ready for what before opening day, with one row per critical role: its material, source, reviewer and check. The worked example below uses a fictional smoothie franchise.

## A location training launch plan, in short

A location training launch plan is one table per new site in which each critical role gets a row: its material, the source it comes from, a reviewer and the check that proves the person is ready for opening day. Regional managers and franchise opening coordinators fill it out while the roster still changes. Elvina fills a sample row for the role you name and marks blockers and unknowns as placeholders. Assigning approved material by role and tracking each person's progress are available now.

## What happens on the free demo

- Book 30 minutes. Pick a time with Elvina's team. The demo is free and runs on Zoom.
- Show the team your goal. Bring one role or one procedure. The team shows how Elvina would handle it, using sample materials.
- Agree on the next step. You leave with a plan for the first step and its price. Nothing reaches your team until you approve it.

## Who this is for, and when

A regional manager, a franchise operations lead or an opening team coordinator with a date on the calendar and a roster that is still changing. Planning starts a few weeks before opening day. A typical training plan lists topics but not who must be ready for what, checked by whom.

## How it works in Elvina

Example fields: Role: shift lead. Material: opening routine v2. Reviewer: operations owner. Check: supervised opening. Blocker: learner access untested.

- Fill the header: location, opening date, roles on the roster and the local exceptions that differ from the standard playbook.
- For each critical role, add a row with the material, its source in Company Knowledge, the reviewer and the check that proves readiness.
- Mark blockers honestly, such as learner access nobody has tested yet or a source that is still a draft in Creation Studio.
- Assign approved material by role in the Learning Platform and update the row as checks are completed.

## A worked example

A smoothie franchise opens its fourteenth store next month. The coordinator lists four roles. One row reads: role shift lead, material opening routine v2, reviewer operations owner, check supervised opening, blocker learner access untested. A local exception notes a different waste disposal schedule for that city.

- The template shows four rows with a source version, a reviewer and a check for each critical role.
- Two rows carry blockers, which become the coordinator's task list for the week.
- The opening date sits in the header as a constraint, and readiness is judged by completed checks.
- A salon group opening another location uses the same rows; one reads: role front desk coordinator, material booking and deposit rules, reviewer front desk manager, check five practice bookings, local exception parking and hours.

## What to check before relying on it

Fill one row per critical role. Treat the opening date as a planning constraint, not evidence that the team is ready.

- Every critical role has a row with material, reviewer and a real check.
- Local exceptions are written down, not assumed to match the playbook.
- Blockers are visible and owned rather than hidden.

## Where a person stays in charge

This template is a planning aid on the website and does not create a workspace, assign learners or verify access. The opening date is a constraint, not evidence that the team is ready. Readiness comes from checks recorded by named reviewers, and the template only makes those checks visible.

## Who this is not for, and when another tool fits

### This is not the right fit if

- You need a construction, permit or equipment schedule for the opening.
- You want a date on the calendar to count as proof the team is ready.
- You are still hiring the crew and need a recruiting plan.

### Another kind of tool may fit better

- A project management tool, for permits, contractors and the build-out schedule.
- Your scheduling system, for who works which shift in the first weeks.

## Questions

**Q:** How many roles should I include?

Only the roles whose mistakes would hurt opening day. Support roles can be added after the first week.

**Q:** What counts as a check?

An observed task, such as a supervised opening or a mock order, judged by the reviewer named in the row.

**Q:** What if the opening date moves?

Keep the rows and change the header. The date only sets how much time is left, and readiness still comes from the checks recorded next to each role. A date that moves earlier usually shows which blockers need an owner this week.
