# Describe the connector your workflow needs

The source system, permitted data, required operation and accountable owner.

Updated October 20, 2026

## When you need this

An operations lead or a learning owner whose workflow depends on a system that is not yet connected to Company Knowledge, such as a policy repository or an HR platform. The signal is someone pasting documents by hand, again and again. A request that says connect our system with no scope stalls, because IT cannot say yes to it.

## Steps

A request separates reading a document from writing a record or sending a message, with a small test case.

- Name the source system, the exact data you are permitted to use, and the owner in your organization who can approve access.
- State the operation you need: reading documents into Company Knowledge, writing a record back, or sending a message; treat each as a separate request.
- Describe one small test case, such as one folder with three documents, and the result a person would check.
- In the Web workspace, send the request through your workspace owner or the contact channel in your agreement, and record the date.

## What you should see

A fictional staffing agency stores its client onboarding checklists in a document system that is not connected. The learning owner, Grace, wants those checklists to feed onboarding lessons. She writes a request for read access to one folder, approved by the compliance manager, with a test of three checklists and a lesson draft as the visible result.

- The request lists the system, the folder, read-only as the operation, the compliance manager as owner and the three-document test.
- The workspace owner forwards it through the confirmed channel and logs the date and the reference returned.
- The reply states whether the connector is available, planned or requires an agreement, and Grace updates her plan accordingly.

## What to check before relying on it

Send only through a confirmed contact path. This page does not install a connector or guarantee a requested integration.

- The request separates reading from writing and from messaging.
- An accountable owner and the permitted data are named.
- A test case small enough to verify by hand is included.

## If it does not work

If it does not work: make sure the request went to your workspace owner or the contact in your agreement, since a message to a general address may not be routed. If the answer is that the connector is planned, wait for confirmation rather than building lessons around it. This page installs nothing and does not guarantee any integration.

## Questions people ask

**Q:** Can I ask for several systems at once?

You can, but each system and each operation gets its own decision. One request per system keeps the answers clear.

**Q:** Who decides whether a connector is built?

Google Drive and Notion connect directly; a connector for any other tool is not available today and is decided under your agreement. Your workspace owner receives the answer and shares it with you.
