# Review a material before proposing it

A sanitized sample, authorship or license, sources and intended learner task.

## Who this is for, and when

A creator preparing a sample before proposing it, or a reviewer on the receiving end who wants a shared standard. Use it in the last hour before the sample goes out to a reviewer. Otherwise you discover after submission that the material cites a stale source, uses an image without rights or includes a former client's data.

## How it works in Elvina

A self-review checks factual support, source freshness, practical value, accessibility and whether private data has been removed.

- Take a sanitized sample of the material and note its authorship or license and the sources it relies on.
- Check factual support: can each claim be traced to a source that would sit in Company Knowledge with an owner and a version?
- Check source freshness, practical value for the intended learner task, and accessibility of any media or slides.
- Confirm private data has been removed, then attach the self-review to the creator brief.

## A worked example

A fictional HR consultant prepares a sample lesson on conducting a first-week check-in. She lists her own template as the source, replaces a real client's name with an invented company name, and finds that one statistic came from a report she no longer has access to. She removes the statistic rather than guess.

- The self-review shows five items with a yes or a note: support, freshness, value, accessibility, privacy.
- The statistic is removed and the lesson relies on her template and a described practice.
- The sample goes into the brief with the review attached, and the reviewer can see what was checked.

## What to check before relying on it

This is a review guide, not an automated AI-checker. No upload, scoring service or external submission is connected here.

- Every claim in the sample traces to a source the creator can name.
- Media and slides are permitted and readable.
- No real person, client or private document appears in the sample.

## Where a person stays in charge

This is a review guide, not an automated checker. No upload, scoring service or external submission is connected to this page. A self-review makes the reviewer's job easier but does not replace it; a person on the program side reads the sample and decides. Terms for any contribution follow an approved agreement.

## Questions people ask

**Q:** What if my source is my own experience?

Say so, and frame the material as practice guidance rather than a factual claim. A reviewer can accept described practice when it is labeled.

**Q:** Do I need to include a quiz?

Not for a sample. A short lesson or a job aid with a clear source is enough to evaluate.
