# Staff still work the old way? I'll teach the new procedure

ELVINA · PEOPLE STILL WORK THE OLD WAY

A change feels done once it's announced, but the old way survives in printed forms, in whoever trains newcomers and during busy hours. First, your manager walks the work at a busy hour and we find where the old way lives. Where the cause is knowledge, I turn the change into a short lesson, a job aid and a check for each role.

- The cause first, then any retraining
- Only the steps that changed
- Checked on a busy shift

## When a change stays on paper

### “We sent the memo. Nothing changed.”

A memo explains the change once. A lesson, a card where the work happens and a check make it part of the shift.

### “Our most senior person still teaches the old way.”

They get the what-changed lesson first, so newcomers hear one version from them.

### “They do it right while I’m watching.”

That may point to pressure, not knowledge, so we check it at the busy hour, not on a quiet afternoon.

## From your change note to a check on a busy shift

### The change, plainly

The old step, the new step and the reason. You tell me in a few lines, and I write it so a newcomer gets it.

### Where the old way lives

Your manager notes old copies, old screens and who still teaches the old step. Those get fixed first, without any training.

### A lesson on what changed

Only the changed steps and why, for each role it touches. Nothing people already know.

### A card where the work happens

The new step on one page, at the station or in the van. The old version is retired so nobody opens it by mistake.

### A check at the busy hour

A supervisor watches the step on a busy shift and marks who does it the new way.

## Move-out cleans without photos

You said: "We added photos of every room to the move-out clean, and half the crews still skip them." I start with the crew leads. Example · cleaning company, 6 crews

- Mon The change in three lines: photos of every room before the crew leaves
- Tue Your ops manager rides along: the old checklist is still in 3 vans
- Wed Old checklists collected. What-changed lesson and van card drafted
- Thu You approve. Crew leads take the lesson before their next job
- Week 2 Your ops manager checks photos on 12 Monday jobs and marks each crew lead
- Week 3 A crew lead who still skips photos gets a ride-along, not a lecture

## Who does what

### You

Say what changed and why, and approve the lesson.

### Your operations manager

Walks the work at a busy hour and checks the new step afterwards.

### Whoever trains newcomers

Learns the change first, so newcomers hear one version.

### Me

Write the what-changed lesson and the card for each role, retire the old version and keep track of who has taken it.

If people skip the step because it slows them down, tell me. Sometimes the process needs a fix, and that call is yours.

## What working with me takes

### You send

The old step, the new step and the reason, in a few lines or a voice note.

### You get

A what-changed lesson and a card for each role the change touches, plus a busy-hour check for your supervisor.

### Your time

We agree up front how much of your time the interview and approvals take, and what else you and your managers do.

### Who helps

I prepare the materials. My team sets me up, supports your account and runs your demo. A person confirms every meeting and every payment.

Example · what-changed card, move-out clean

### What changed on the move-out clean
