Creating a training presenter, in short
A training presenter is the on-screen avatar and voice that opens a video lesson, sets up the situation and then hands the screen to the decision the learner has to make. It suits learning designers who cannot film a manager every time a procedure changes. Video lessons with avatar presenters, voice and lip sync are available now, with one profile reused across lessons for a steady look and pronunciation. A cloned or recorded voice of your own is used only with the documented consent of the voice owner, and the lesson says the presenter is synthetic.
Example scenario with sample data.

Who this is for, and when
A learning designer at a hotel management company builds video lessons for front-desk teams in three states. Filming a general manager every time a check-in procedure changes is not feasible. She wants a consistent on-screen presenter for lesson intros (with voice and appearance the company is permitted to use) that hands off to the actual decision content rather than performing it.
How it works in Elvina
A synthetic presenter introduces a service scenario, then gives the screen to the decision and its feedback.
- She uploads the approved script, audience notes, target language and the licensed voice and avatar assets to Company Knowledge with the licensing owner named.
- In Creation Studio, Elvina defines a presenter profile (appearance, voice, pacing, pronunciation list for property names) from those assets only.
- Elvina generates a short intro segment that sets up the scenario, then cuts to the decision screen and its feedback.
- She reviews consent records, pronunciation and tone, and approves the presenter profile for reuse across lessons on the Learning Platform.
A worked example
A fictional operator, Harborlight Hospitality, manages 11 hotels. The learning designer has a licensed synthetic voice and an avatar the company had made for it, both with documented usage rights. The first lesson is 'Late Check-In With No Reservation Found', sourced from the Front Desk Standards manual.
- A presenter profile named 'Front Desk Guide' with a pronunciation list for all 11 property names.
- A 40-second intro where the presenter frames the situation and then says 'here is the decision you will make', cutting to the branching screen.
- A disclosure line in the lesson noting the presenter is synthetic and not an employee.
What to check before relying on it
Review consent, licensing and pronunciation. A synthetic presenter is not evidence of an actual employee or customer endorsement.
- The presenter uses only voice and likeness assets with documented consent and license.
- Property and product names are pronounced correctly on playback.
- The lesson discloses that the presenter is synthetic.
- The presenter introduces the scenario without stating the answer.
Where a person stays in charge
A synthetic presenter is a delivery device, not evidence. Elvina does not clone a real employee's voice or face without documented consent uploaded as a source, and it never presents the avatar as a customer or staff endorsement. The learning designer approves each generated segment before it is published, and licensing questions go to the asset owner.
Who this is not for, and when another tool fits
This is not the right fit if
- You want an avatar that looks like a real employee who has not agreed to it.
- You need the presenter to stand in for a customer testimonial.
- Your lessons must be filmed with your own staff on site.
Another kind of tool may fit better
- A video crew, when the lesson needs your real people and your real premises on camera.
- A voice actor, when a single recorded narration is all you need.
