IN SHORT

What is mentor-led learning with Elvina?

Mentor-led learning with Elvina keeps a learner's attempt, the mentor's written feedback and the revised response in one place. Team leads who mentor a few new specialists use it to run a review rhythm they can sustain. Elvina drafts practice tasks from approved customer scenarios and your written standard; the mentor writes every comment and marks each scenario complete. Nothing is graded automatically. Answers to learners in chat about the standard are planned, not available today.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

What happens on the free demo

  1. Book 30 minutes. Pick a time with Elvina's team. The demo is free and runs on Zoom.
  2. Show the team your goal. Bring one role or one procedure. The team shows how Elvina would handle it, using sample materials.
  3. Agree on the next step. You leave with a plan for the first step and its price. Nothing reaches your team until you approve it.

Who this is for, and when

A team lead at an independent insurance agency mentors three new claims intake specialists. Practice happens, feedback happens, but they live in different places and the loop breaks. She wants each learner to attempt a customer scenario, get specific feedback from her, and submit a revised response for discussion, with a clear rule about who sees what and a review rhythm she can sustain.

02

How it works in Elvina

The learner attempts a customer scenario, receives specific feedback and submits a revised response for discussion.

  • The team lead adds the Claims Intake Standards and three approved customer scenarios to Company Knowledge, marking herself as mentor and owner.
  • Creation Studio drafts a practice task per scenario asking the learner to write the intake response and note the next step.
  • The learner submits through the Learning Platform, the mentor reviews and adds specific feedback, and the learner submits a revision.
  • A weekly discussion covers the revision, and the mentor marks the scenario complete when the response meets the standard.
  • Between attempts, learners reread the mentor's feedback and the scenario in the Web workspace; checking the standard with Elvina in Chat is planned, not available today.
03

A worked example

A fictional agency, Harbor Point Insurance, onboards three claims intake specialists under one team lead. Sources are the Claims Intake Standards, version 2, and three customer scenarios covering a water-damage claim, a disputed auto claim, and an incomplete submission. The rhythm is one scenario per week with a Friday discussion.

  • Each specialist completed three attempt-feedback-revision cycles over three weeks.
  • Mentor feedback is attached to the specific attempt, so the revision shows what changed.
  • One scenario was rewritten after all three learners misread the same instruction.
04

What to check before relying on it

Define who can see the feedback. Do not automate consequential assessment or assume a mentor is always available.

  • Every scenario has an attempt, mentor feedback, and a revision recorded for each learner.
  • Feedback visibility is limited to the learner and the mentor as configured before the cycle.
  • Completion was marked by the mentor, not triggered automatically by submission.
05

Where a person stays in charge

Elvina holds the practice tasks, submissions, and feedback in one place; it does not generate the mentor's feedback or grade responses for use in consequential decisions. Who can view feedback is decided by the organization before the cycle begins. Mentor time is finite, and the review rhythm should match it. Consequential assessment stays with people.

WHERE ELVINA STOPS

What Elvina does not do, and when another tool fits

Elvina does not

  • Write the mentor's feedback or grade a response for use in consequential decisions.
  • Mark a scenario complete when a learner submits; the mentor decides.
  • Decide who can view feedback; your organization sets that before the cycle.
  • Assume a mentor is always free; the review rhythm should match their time.

Another tool fits better when

  • The procedure itself is still being decided: settle it first, then train on the approved version.
  • You need payroll, scheduling or an HR system of record: keep the one you have.
  • A quick poll after a meeting is all you need: a survey form is enough.
