Help a person reach their first useful lesson
Onboarding a learner is making sure one new person can log in, sees the right first lesson and knows who to contact, before their first shift rather than during it. It suits practice and store managers who have watched a new hire lose a morning to a locked account. Elvina drafts a start checklist that keeps invitation, login and assignment as separate states, and the manager runs it with the new account; assigning the first lesson by role and group is available now. Account fixes stay with your administrator.

What happens on the free demo
- Book 30 minutes. Pick a time with Elvina's team. The demo is free and runs on Zoom.
- Show the team your goal. Bring one role or one procedure. The team shows how Elvina would handle it, using sample materials.
- Agree on the next step. You leave with a plan for the first step and its price. Nothing reaches your team until you approve it.
What you bring and what Elvina returns
| You bring | Elvina returns, for your approval | Status |
|---|---|---|

| The clinic group the new technician belongs in | The new account placed in that group, so the right lessons show from day one | available now |
| The new hire’s account, a few days before the start | A start checklist with invite, login and lesson progress tracked as separate states | available now |
Who this is for, and when
A practice manager at a veterinary clinic network has a new technician starting Monday. The last new hire spent her first morning locked out of the training account while the hospital director was in surgery. The manager wants a checklist that verifies the technician can log in, shows exactly which lesson is first, and names a person to text if anything fails, before the first shift, not during it.
How it works in Elvina
A learner-start checklist verifies access, shows the next lesson and names a support contact.
- The manager confirms the role, the clinic group and the authorized account, and selects the first assignment on the Learning Platform.
- Elvina drafts a learner-start checklist: account exists, invitation accepted, first lesson visible, support contact named.
- The manager runs the checklist with the new technician's account in the Web workspace and marks each item.
- Any failed item (such as an invitation not accepted) is shown with what to do next and who owns that step.
A worked example
A fictional network, Oakridge Veterinary Partners, runs five clinics. The new technician joins the Westside clinic. Her first assignment is 'Patient Intake and Records', revision 2. The support contact is the network's training lead, and the account was provisioned by the office administrator three days earlier.
- A checklist showing account created, invitation accepted, group membership correct, first lesson visible, support contact named.
- One failure on the first pass: the account was in the wrong clinic group, so the lesson did not appear. The administrator fixed it in ten minutes.
- On Monday the technician opened the lesson at 8:05 a.m. without calling anyone.
What to check before relying on it
Keep invitation, login and assignment states separate. This preview cannot diagnose or modify a real learner account.
- The checklist separates invitation, login and assignment states rather than reporting one 'ready' flag.
- The first lesson opens from the learner's own account, not the manager's preview.
- A named support contact with a working channel appears on the checklist.
- Any failed step names the person responsible for fixing it.
Where a person stays in charge
This is a preparation checklist run by the manager. It does not create accounts, reset passwords or change group membership by itself, and the website version of this page cannot inspect or modify a real learner's account. Fixes are made by the administrator with the proper permissions.
Who this is not for, and when another tool fits
This is not the right fit if
- You need Elvina to create accounts or reset passwords.
- The new hire has no work email or device to log in with yet.
- You want a full onboarding program rather than the first login and lesson.
Another kind of tool may fit better
- Your IT or account administrator, for logins, passwords and group membership fixes.
- A full onboarding plan, when you need the whole route to independent work.
