A Readiness Scorecard You Can Read in Ten Seconds

An employee readiness scorecard records whether a person has shown they can do each critical task, not how many modules they finished. Use it to decide who can work alone, and to see at a glance which tasks new people struggle with.

IN SHORT

An employee readiness scorecard, in short

An employee readiness scorecard is a one-page sheet per role that lists the five to eight critical tasks and, beside each, the date a named manager saw it done well enough for solo work. Managers fill it out based on what they observe, not from module counts. Elvina drafts a sample scorecard for the role you name, leaving tasks she cannot know as placeholders, and the first-week readiness check behind it with tracking by person, available now. The call that someone is ready stays with whoever watched the work.

It fits on one page per role.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

What happens on the free demo

  1. Book 30 minutes. Pick a time with Elvina's team. The demo is free and runs on Zoom.
  2. Show the team your goal. Bring one role or one procedure. The team shows how Elvina would handle it, using sample materials.
  3. Agree on the next step. You leave with a plan for the first step and its price. Nothing reaches your team until you approve it.

01

When to use it

Use the scorecard for any role where a mistake on a first solo shift costs money, safety or a customer. It works for new hires, transfers between sites and anyone returning after a long absence. It is also useful before a new location opens, when a whole team has to be ready on the same date and a manager needs to see the gaps in one view.

02

How to fill it out

List the five to eight tasks that must be right before someone works alone. For each task, write what a manager should see, not what the person should know. Record the date the manager saw it done correctly.

  • Task: open the store alone
  • What the manager sees: every opening step done in order, cash counted, first customer served within ten minutes of opening
  • Seen by: store manager
  • Result: ready, with one follow-up on the cash count
03

How to read the result

A person is ready when every critical task has a date and a name next to it. Across several people, the tasks that are most often missing show where your training is weak, which matters more than any single score. If one task stays open for most new hires, change the lesson or the practice for that task before blaming the people.

04

Where a person decides

The scorecard records observations; a manager makes the call. Elvina can draft the scorecard for each role from your routines in Creation Studio, but the observation and the decision that someone is ready to work alone stay with the person who watched them.

WHO IT IS NOT FOR

Who this is not for, and when another tool fits

This is not the right fit if

  • You want a training completion report rather than observed work.
  • No manager can watch the critical tasks on a real shift.
  • You need a full first-month review with next steps.

Another kind of tool may fit better

  • A new hire evaluation form, for a whole first-month review with owners and dates.
  • Your LMS completion report, if you only need to know who finished the material.
