IN SHORT

Replacing a logo across training material, in short

Replacing a logo means swapping a retired company mark for the approved one in the training decks and lessons you select, while archived copies stay untouched. Brand managers and training leads use it after a rebrand, when dozens of working decks still show the old mark. You define the scope, and Elvina lists each placement, prepares a draft revision per deck and picks the light or dark variant. Logo and color updates through the Brand Kit are available now. Partner logos and archived decks are left for a person to decide.

01

Who this is for, and when

A brand manager at a regional bank is three weeks past a rebrand. The stacked logo is retired, the horizontal mark is current, and forty training decks still carry the old one. She needs the swap done on the decks the training team is actively editing, while archived decks used as evidence for past audits stay exactly as they were.

02

How it works in Elvina

A draft presentation uses the current horizontal mark while the archived original remains unchanged.

  • The brand manager uploads the approved horizontal mark and its usage rules to Company Knowledge, then selects the target scope: the Active Training folder only.
  • Elvina lists every deck in scope that contains the retired mark, with a count of placements per deck and a preview of each.
  • She excludes two decks that also show a partner credit union's logo, then confirms the replacement.
  • Elvina creates a draft revision of each deck with the new mark placed in the same position, and the archive folder is left untouched.
03

A worked example

A fictional institution, Sycamore Trust Bank, keeps 38 decks in Active Training and 120 in Archive. The retired stacked logo appears on title slides, footers and one certificate template. The approved file is Sycamore-Horizontal-RGB.svg with a dark-background variant.

  • Thirty-six decks received draft revisions; the two with partner branding were handled by hand.
  • Footer placements on dark section dividers automatically used the light variant of the mark.
  • The certificate template needed a manual adjustment because the horizontal mark did not fit the original square slot.
04

What to check before relying on it

Check light and dark backgrounds, minimum size and distorted scaling. Do not replace third-party marks that identify a source.

  • The correct variant appears on light and dark backgrounds in every replaced placement.
  • No placement is stretched, squashed or rendered below the minimum size in the usage rules.
  • Third-party logos that identify a source or partner were not touched.
  • Archived decks show no change in their version history.
05

Where a person stays in charge

Elvina replaces the mark you point it at within the scope you define; it does not decide which decks are archival or which co-branded logos belong to someone else. A horizontal mark will not always fit a slot designed for a stacked one, so drafts need a visual pass. The brand manager approves each revision before it replaces the working copy.

WHO IT IS NOT FOR

Who this is not for, and when another tool fits

This is not the right fit if

  • You want archived decks kept as audit evidence changed too.
  • The old mark is baked into screenshots and photos that you need edited.
  • The decks also carry partner logos you plan to remove without asking the partner.

Another kind of tool may fit better

  • A designer, for logos baked into photos, screenshots or video frames.
  • Your brand agency, to define the new mark’s variants and usage rules first.
