ELVINA · CONVENIENCE STORES

I train your convenience store clerks for a shift alone

A clerk alone on the night shift has nobody to ask. Tell me how your stores run the register, age checks, cash drops, deliveries and the coffee counter. I turn your store manual into lessons and photo cards that open on a phone, and a store manager works a full shift beside each new clerk first.

Register, age checks, cash drops and deliveries from your store manual, so a clerk can run the shift alone.

Updated

Before you start

What working with me takes

You send

Your store manual, cash and age-check policies and a few photos of each station, or a recorded shift change.

You get

Lessons and photo cards for the register, safe and cooler, with each store's local details, and a shift check by your store manager.

Your time

We agree up front how much of your time the interview and approvals take, and what else you and your managers do.

Who helps

I prepare the materials. My team sets me up, supports your account and runs your demo. A person confirms every meeting and every payment.

Example · cash drop card, overnight shift
Making a cash dropDraft for your approval

One page by the register · from your cash policy

  1. When the drawer passes the limit on this card, start a drop
  2. Count the bills twice, out of the customer's view
  3. Drop the bag in the safe and log the time and amount
  4. Never try to open the safe. Only the manager has the code

Stop and call the store manager if the count does not match the drawer report.

Roles I start with

Everyone who might be alone behind the counter

I check this list with your district manager and begin with the clerk who covers nights.

Clerk or cashier

The register, voids, lottery and the age check on every restricted sale, as your stores do it.

Overnight clerk

Cash drops, the locked-door routine and who to call when nobody else is in the building.

Food counter

Coffee, roller grill and fresh case routines from your manual. Food handler cards stay with your county's program.

Stocking and deliveries

Checking in a vendor, rotating the cooler and the backroom order.

Fuel desk

Pump authorization, a drive-off and the emergency shutoff steps on your site plan.

Shift lead or assistant manager

Shift change, the safe count and the notes the next clerk reads.

How I take it on

Convenience store training for the clerk on their own

  1. 1

    The shift that empties first

Tell me which store needs a clerk, which shift and when the new person starts.

  2. 2

    Your manual and your photos

Your store manual, cash and age-check policies and vendor list, or a recording of your most experienced manager explaining a shift change.

  3. 3

    Money and the law first

I start with the routines that cost money or carry legal risk at the register, as described in your policies.

  4. 4

    Photo cards on a phone

Lessons and photo cards for the register, the safe and the cooler. Your district manager approves them.

  5. 5

    Every store, its own details

One shared program, with each store's equipment, vendors and fuel steps added as a short local lesson.

  6. 6

    A shift beside a manager

The store manager works a shift with the new clerk, then decides who covers nights solo.

Example

Four clerks before a holiday weekend

You said: "I need four new clerks covering nights before the Fourth of July, and I can't train each one myself." I start with cash drops and age checks. Example · 6 neighborhood stores, no fuel

  1. Jun 9Your store manual and cash policy read with your district manager
  2. Jun 11Age-check and cash drop lessons drafted, photo cards from your store
  3. Jun 12You approve. A Spanish version of the register card
  4. Jun 16Assigned to four new clerks across three stores
  5. Jun 20Day shifts beside a store manager
  6. Jun 27Shift check: each store manager decides who covers nights alone

For clerks who read Spanish at the register

If a clerk reads Spanish more easily, the register card and its lessons come in Spanish too, while the age-check wording stays exactly as written in your policy.

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Both languages

What stays with you

  • Responsible vendor courses for alcohol and tobacco stay with the programs your state approves
  • Food handler cards and any required safety course stay with their providers
  • Prices, promotions and the safe limit are your decisions
  • Who you hire, and who covers a shift alone, is up to you

THE NIGHT SHIFT

Tell me which shift your newest clerk will cover. I'll start with what they face alone.
