ELVINA · TRAINING WITHOUT A DEPARTMENT
Many small businesses never hire a trainer: the owner and a couple of senior people teach everything between customers. I prepare what a training department would, from the expert interview to the readiness checklist your manager runs. Your senior people check what I write, you approve it, and your managers decide when someone is ready.
I do the work a training department would do. Your senior people check it, you approve it, your managers decide who is ready.

I'm Elvina. Who trains new people now: you, a senior employee or whoever is on shift?

Updated
The role you hire most, and the name of the person who does that work right.
A first program for that role: lessons, a quiz, a single-page aid and a readiness check, all waiting for your approval.
We agree up front how much of your time the interview and approvals take, and what else you and your managers do.
I prepare the materials. My team sets me up, supports your account and runs your demo. A person confirms every meeting and every payment.
| Part | What it covers | Who checks |
|---|---|---|
| Lesson 1 | Arriving at a home and the walk-through | Crew lead |
| Lesson 2 | Kitchen and bathroom order of work | Crew lead |
| Lesson 3 | Which product goes on which surface | Crew lead |
| Van checklist | One page, kept in the van | You approve |
| Readiness | One full clean, watched | Crew lead decides |
A training program is the set of lessons, job aids, checks and records that teach each role its work the same way every time. Without a department, someone still has to write it, keep it current and notice who never finished. I do that work: I interview the person who knows the job and draft the materials; your manager assigns them on the platform, which records completions. Your people approve every piece and judge who is ready.
Very small workplaces are common: according to the Census Bureau's 2022 County Business Patterns, 55.7% of US employer establishments, those with at least one paid employee, had fewer than five employees.
One role, its first tasks and the person on your team who does them right.
I ask that person how the work is done and where newcomers slip. No documents are needed to begin.
Short lessons, a quiz on the decisions that matter and a single page for each task. Your senior person corrects the draft, then you approve it.
Your manager assigns the lessons by role on the platform. Planned, not available today: the reminders you agree to and alerts about who has stalled.
A manager watches the task and marks the level: not yet, with help, alone or can teach.
When a rule changes, I update the lesson and send it back for approval. A second role starts once the first one runs on its own.
You said: "Nobody here has time to train, so new cleaners just follow whoever is in the van." I start with your standard house clean. Example · cleaning company, 4 crews

Answers my questions once and corrects the draft.
Watch the task on a real shift and mark the level.
Write the program; your manager assigns it on the platform, which records completions. Follow-up messages are planned, not available today.
Who you hire, what you pay and how shifts run stay with you.
