ELVINA · SEVERAL UNITS, ONE WAY

Multi-unit franchisee? I teach your own rules in every unit

The franchisor trains its brand standard. Your own layer is often taught differently in every unit: hiring, cash and attendance rules, what general managers check each day. I build training for that layer from your policies, flag anything that may conflict with the brand for your review, and every GM runs the same checks.

The brand trains its part. I teach your own policies the same way in every unit, without touching the brand's.

What franchisees tell me

Several units that feel like several companies

“Brand courses teach the product, not our rules.”

Your policies become lessons assigned after the brand course, in every unit.

“Each general manager trains new hires a bit differently.”

One program for your layer, and the same watched checks wherever you operate.

“Staff covering at another unit find different rules.”

Shift coverage, cash and attendance taught one way, so a person can work in any of your units.

How I take it on

From the line between the brand and you to one program

  1. 1

    Draw the line

What the franchisor trains and requires, from your agreement and its manual, and what is yours to set.

  2. 2

    Ask before reusing

I use franchisor material only where your agreement allows it, and you check with the franchisor when the line is unclear.

  3. 3

    Your layer as lessons

Your policies and a walk-through from your strongest general manager become lessons, job aids and checks. You approve them.

  4. 4

    Same program, every unit

Each general manager assigns it after the brand course and watches the same checks.

  5. 5

    Units side by side

You compare units on the parts you own, before a brand audit compares them for you.

Example

Five pretzel units, five cash counts

You said: "The brand covers recipes. The cash count is different in every mall." I start with cash. Example · 5 franchise units in malls

  1. Week 1What the brand trains, listed. You ask which of its materials you may reference
  2. Week 2Your strongest GM walks me through opening, the cash count and shift handoff
  3. Week 3Lessons and a counter job aid approved, checked against the brand course
  4. Week 4Each unit assigns them after the brand course
  5. Week 6GMs record who passed each check. You compare the 5 units
Who does what

Who does what

You

Set your policies, approve every lesson and compare units.

The franchisor

Owns the brand standard and the training it requires.

Your general managers

Assign the program and watch the checks in their unit.

Me

Build your layer's training, keep it clear of the brand's and show where each unit stands.

Read your franchise agreement before reusing brand material; your lawyer handles its legal interpretation. I don't change anything in the franchisor's systems, and I don't hire, schedule or run payroll.

Before you start

What working with me takes

You send

Your own policies and manager checklists, and the parts of the brand training your agreement covers.

You get

Training for your own layer that every unit runs the same way, assigned after the brand course.

Your time

We agree up front how much of your time the interview and approvals take, and what else you and your managers do.

Who helps

I prepare the materials. My team sets me up, supports your account and runs your demo. A person confirms every meeting and every payment.

The brand's part and yoursDraft for your approval

From your agreement and your own policies

The brand trains

  • Recipes and the counter routine
  • Uniforms, signs and the menu board

You train

  • The cash count and the safe
  • Covering a shift at another unit
  • Mall security rules and late closing
