IN SHORT

Reuse structure without copying stale facts

Creating a course from a template reuses an approved structure, its modules, scenarios and draft questions, for a new audience such as a branch in another city, while every contact, procedure and example tied to the old site is replaced. Safety managers and trainers opening new locations use it instead of starting over or copying blindly. Elvina lists each placeholder, hidden note and outdated source link that needs a decision. Ready-made templates, multi-module courses and approval before assignment are available now. Assignments and learner data never carry over.

  1. Book 30 minutes. Pick a time with Elvina's team. The demo is free and runs on Zoom.
  2. Show the team your goal. Bring one role or one procedure. The team shows how Elvina would handle it, using sample materials.

01

Who this is for, and when

A safety manager at a landscaping company is opening a branch in a new city and needs the same safety orientation structure without last year's contacts, procedures and heat-safety examples. Rebuilding from scratch takes days; copying blindly ships stale facts to new crews.

02

How it works in Elvina

A safety-orientation structure is reused for a new location while contacts, procedures and practice examples are replaced.

  • In Creation Studio, choose New from template and select the approved orientation template.
  • Name the new audience and attach the current sources from Company Knowledge.
  • Elvina copies the structure and lists every placeholder, hidden note and source link that needs a decision.
  • Replace contacts, procedures and practice examples, then send the course for approval.
03

A worked example

A fictional company, Greenfield Grounds, uses the Branch Safety Orientation template to open a Tucson branch. The safety manager attaches two sources: Tucson Emergency Contacts and Heat Illness Prevention 2026. The template holds five modules and a dozen practice scenarios.

  • Five modules were copied, and fourteen placeholders were flagged for replacement.
  • Two source links pointed to a superseded heat-safety document and were swapped for the 2026 version.
  • The branch manager approved the course after every placeholder was cleared.
04

What to check before relying on it

Audit inherited placeholders, hidden notes and outdated source links. A template is structure, not proof that its claims remain valid.

  • The placeholder list is empty before approval.
  • Emergency contacts match the new location.
  • Every source link resolves to a current document.
  • Hidden author notes have been read and removed.
  • No assignments were copied from the template.
05

Where a person stays in charge

A template carries structure, not proof that its claims are still true. Elvina flags what to replace; it does not verify that a procedure is current or legally adequate for the new site. Assignments and learner data are never copied. A person approves before anything is assigned on the Learning Platform.

WHO IT IS NOT FOR

Who this is not for, and when another tool fits

This is not the right fit if

  • The new site works so differently that the old structure does not fit.
  • You want the template to confirm that a procedure is current or legally adequate.
  • You need last year’s learners and assignments carried into the new course.

Another kind of tool may fit better

  • Your current authoring tool, if one designer already builds every course by hand and the team is happy with it.
  • A shared drive, when people only need to find a file rather than learn a task.
